This workshop aims to support researchers and writers with the skill to communicate your research and writing effectively and creatively to a non-academic and non-specialist audiences. The workshop will cover important parts of pitching and writing outside the world of academia, including different media forms to write for, such as podcasts, blogs, newspaper articles, and non-academic texts. It will also teach you how to discover your audience and learn what audience demographics are. The workshop will also centre everything around instruction on how to write creatively and compellingly without losing the academic rigour that backs up your research. Activities will include finding your audience, and how to transform academic writing to fit that audience.
